Research area

I am a first-year doctoral fellow at ETH AI center, working on the intersection of natural language processing (NLP) and computational social science. I am part of Rycolabcall_made led by Prof. Ryan Cotterellcall_made and Law, Economics, and Data Science Group led by Prof. Elliott Ashcall_made.

Afra completed her bachelor’s in software engineering at Sharif University of Technology. She worked as a data scientist for one year before joining ETH Zürich, where she obtained her master's in computer science. She wrote her master thesis on causal analysis of morpho-syntactic features on contextualized representations under the supervision of Prof. Ryan Cotterell. She is currently a doctoral fellow at ETH AI Center.
