Dandelion Award

In 2021, the ETH AI Center, together with the ETH Entrepreneur Club, initiated the Dandelion Entrepreneurship Awards: the first awards to recognize professors for their outstanding efforts in promoting entrepreneurship at Swiss universities. Since then, the award has been organized annually at ETH Zürich by the ETH AI Center, ETH Entrepreneurship, ETH Entrepreneur Club, and Talent Kick.

Professors play an essential—yet often overlooked—role in Switzerland’s start-up and innovation ecosystem. They spark breakthrough ideas in their research labs, share their knowledge with a global community, and provide valuable mentorship to the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators. By opening up career paths and encouraging bold ideas to move from research to practice, they have a profound influence on shaping the future of innovation.

The Dandelion Entrepreneurship Award was created to honor professors who actively encourage and support entrepreneurial initiatives among students and researchers.
