Honoring outstanding mentors for young entrepreneurs
The ETH Entrepreneur Club and the ETH AI Center have announced the winners of this year's Dandelion Entrepreneurship Award for ETH Professors. Alexander Matys from the Department of Health Sciences and Technology recieves the special award for championing interdisciplinary collaboration and entrepreneurship.
Initiated in 2021 by ETH AI Center and external page ETH Entrepreneur Club, the Dandelion Entrepreneurshiop Award for ETH Professors aims to highlight the often underestimated role that professors play in inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Their influence on future founders and innovators is paramount, stretching from sparking ideas and sharing knowledge to concrete mentorship and encouragement. For example, showcasing innovative startups from their respective fields of work as examples for apllied research in lectures can go a long way to motivate students to pursue their own bold ideas and take an idea from the lab to practice. This is what the Dandelion Award is all about.
Each year, a jury comprising members of ETH Entrepreneur Club, ETH Juniors, Student Project House and AVETH picks a winner for each department at ETH, based on nominations from ETH students, doctoral students and Post-Docs.
