ETH AI Center at Informatiktage 2024

The ETH AI Center participated in Informatiktage 2024, with program centered on the critical theme of (cyber)-security, showcased how augmented reality is revolutionizing operating rooms, challenged attendees with a robot in a labyrinth game, and educated on safety issues of autonomous vehicles with intricate miniature models.

On March 26th, 2024, the ETH AI Center participated at Informatiktage with its engaging program held in the CAB building at ETH Zurich. The event's focus was on demonstrating the transformative power of AI and cybersecurity through hands-on demonstrations and insightful lectures, drawing a bridge between technology and its impact on society.

Visitors had the unique opportunity to see augmented reality applications in medical settings, interact with robots through a challenging maze, and understand the complexities of autonomous vehicle safety via detailed models. These demonstrations underscored the center's commitment to showcasing practical and innovative uses of AI and cybersecurity.

The day also featured enriching lectures from ETH AI Center's associated researchers. Prof. Verena Zimmermann explored the vital role of human-computer interaction in maintaining digital security, emphasizing how intuitive user interfaces can strengthen IT security measures. Her talk provided practical insights into improving everyday digital interactions.

Additionally, Prof. Peter G. Kirchschläger addressed the ethical challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence. His lecture highlighted the need for a balanced approach to AI development, focusing on harnessing its potential while carefully navigating ethical considerations such as privacy and bias.
