“Close collaborations with world-leading universities are essential for achieving excellence in research. We are very excited to have ETH Zurich in Switzerland as an international WASP partner university,” said Bo Wahlberg, Chair of the WASP International Management Group and professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. “ETH Zurich has an outstanding reputation as one of the top universities in Europe and its famous ETH AI Center will form the base for the collaboration with WASP.”

Dr. Alexander Ilic, Executive Director of the ETH AI Center, echoed these sentiments: “We are excited to work with WASP and look forward to hosting WASP researchers at the ETH AI Center. We strongly believe in the power of AI talent to shape the future, and through this collaboration, we can work together to support the next generation of change-makers in academia, industry, and entrepreneurship. This program will strengthen the ties between the AI hubs in Sweden and Switzerland and enable us to amplify opportunities on both sides.”

Expanding Research Opportunities

Under this collaboration, WASP and ETH Zurich will foster postdoctoral cooperation, giving WASP doctoral students new opportunities to apply for postdoctoral positions at ETH Zurich. The partnership will also facilitate research stays at ETH Zurich for WASP doctoral students. Additionally, ETH Zurich researchers interested in conducting research in Sweden will benefit from a guest researcher program.
